These courses are designed for both those who handle propane and those who sell it to wholesale and retail customers. They cover topics such as propane properties and characteristics, handling and filling propane containers, visually inspecting propane containers and valves, and procedures to be followed in handling an emergency.
Course Number: 100-01 Intended principally for propane service station attendants and other entry-level positions, this course is the foundation of the propane industry's training courses. The course covers the physical properties of propane, WHMIS, TDG exemptions, filling plant equipment, emergency response procedures and procedures for filling both cylinders and auto propane tanks. The course manual can be used for either trainer-led instruction or self-study exam preparation, and is also available in French. Transportation of Dangerous Goods Course Number: 100-03 Learn the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations for all aspects of handling, offering for transport, and transporting propane in cylinders. This trainer-led course is also available in French. Cylinder Visual Inspection & Re-qualification Course Number: 100-04 Become a certified cylinder inspector through successful completion of this course. This course covers the B149.2-05 Propane Storage and Handling Code and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations concerning the inspection and re-qualification of CTC/DOT/TC propane cylinders. This course is also available in French. Inspection of Vapour Pressure Relief Valves in Propane Tanks Course Number: 100-05 Increase your awareness of the things to look for when conducting a visual inspection of a pressure relief valve on a propane container. To be taken in conjunction with Course Number 100-06. This course is also available in French. Visual Inspection of Propane Tanks Course Number: 100-06 Develop your skills to recognize propane tank problems. This course covers the B149.2-05 Propane Storage and Handling Code, Pressure Vessels Acts and Code, and regulations concerning the visual inspection of propane tanks. Recommended to be taken in conjunction with the 100-05 Visual Inspection of Pressure Relief Valve course. This course is also available in French. TDG Propane Hose Inspection and Testing Course Number: 100-07 Meet federal TDG requirements for conducting annual visual inspection and pressure testing of propane hose assemblies used during loading or off-loading highway tanks. This course, designed to be taught while on the job, is for experienced plant operators and bulk truck drivers. Topics include the regulatory requirements for hose testing, visual inspection requirements, testing equipment, and completing pressure testing using either water or propane as the test fluid. Cylinder Filling Course Number: 100-08 This course is intended principally for propane service station attendants who only dispense cylinder propane. The course covers the physical properties of propane, WHMIS, TDG exemptions, filling plant equipment, emergency response procedures and procedures for filling cylinders. This course does not cover filling of auto propane tanks. The course manual can be used for either trainer-led instruction or self-study exam preparation. Visual Inspection of Propane Tanks and Valves Course Number: 100-09 A combination of both the 100-06 course, Inspection of Vapour Pressure Relief Valves in Propane Tanks, and the 100-05 course, Visual Inspection of Propane Tanks, this course was designed for students who want to take both courses. Bulk Truck Drivers Course Number: 300-01 This trainer-led course is designed to train bulk propane delivery drivers in proper propane handling procedures in accordance with the B149.2-05 Propane Handling and Storage Code. This course outlines the physical properties of propane, provides a description of bulk plant and bulk delivery vehicle components as well as the "how to" of filling propane tanks. This course is also available in French. Rail Car Unloading Course Number 300-02 This trainer-led course is designed to train bulk plant employees in the proper procedures for unloading propane from rail cars into storage tanks in accordance with the B149.2-05 Propane Storage and Handling Code. This course outlines the physical properties of propane, a description of bulk plant and rail car components, propane testing, as well as the how-to of unloading rail cars. This course is also available in French. Rail Car Unloading - Butane Course Number 300-03 Covering the same learning objectives as our 300-02 course, Rail Car Unloading, this course has been customized specifically for unloading butane rail cars.
